Board Opening, Chino Valley MICTED


Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Mountain Institute Career and Technology Education District (MICTED) Governing Board, representing Chino Valley Unified School District, effective December 17, 2019.

The opening was created by the resignation of Board President Phillip Cox, who stated, “at this time my other commitments have become too great and as a result I am not able to fulfill the requirements of my position on the Board and feel the position would better be filled by someone  who can commit the time this position warrants. Superintendent Carter expressed his most sincere  appreciation for the work that Mr. Cox did as a Mountain Institute Governing Board Member and wishes him the very best in the future”.

To be eligible to hold this seat a person must: be a registered voter within the Chino Valley Unified School District, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse can not be employed by Mountain Institute CTED or by a third-party provider.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest and resumes is Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Carter will interview candidates at the Mountain Institute Career and Technology Education District Office in Prescott on Monday, January 13, 2020. The appointment should be announced by  Thursday, January 16, 2020 and be valid from the time of taking the oath of office until December 31, 2020.
