His passion for the trade comes from a deep emotional connection—his late uncle was a Dodge mechanic, inspiring Damien to follow in his footsteps.
Auto body work has been his favorite subject so far. Outside of school, he works at Sonic and dreams of owning a ’73 short-bed square body. His advice to future students? “Take advantage of the classes—they provide great opportunities.”
Damien excels in fabrication, welding, general repair, and some painting. His instructor describes him as incredibly resourceful, hardworking, and self-sufficient, often problem-solving independently before seeking help. He is one of the most dedicated students, frequently arriving early and staying late, even in classes he isn’t enrolled in.
His current project is a 1991 Toyota Camry, where he has completed metal and bodywork, major mechanical renovations, and recently fabricated his own exhaust system. He also tackles electrical and mechanical repairs, demonstrating the well-rounded skills required in collision repair.
Damien’s drive extends beyond school—he works on his car at home and maximizes the resources available at school, using only what he needs. He fully embraces every learning opportunity.
Mr. King- His professor, praises his intelligence, motivation, and exceptional work ethic. “He is quiet but incredibly driven,” he says. With his talent and dedication, Damien is on the path to becoming an outstanding technician. Another student in the works for great success abroad! Good job, Damien!
