EDUCATION PROFESSIONS PROGRAM
PROGRAM SUMMARY
Designed for students interested in teaching grades K-12
The Education Professions program is designed to prepare students for employment and/or postsecondary opportunities in the education field. The Education Professions program also provides interactive experiences with students at different age levels in a variety of content areas in different educational environments.
CAREER SNAPSHOT
Students can continue at Yavapai College and complete an Associates of Arts in Elementary Education. They can then transfer to a state university to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and earn an AZ State Teaching Certificate. Students have a potential opportunity to enter into a program for Teacher Certification that would allow for loan forgiveness with a commitment to 5 years of teaching in Arizona.
INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS
• Progress toward Yavapai College's Associate of Arts in Elementary Education Degree
CREDITS
• Yavapai College credits are earned after completing the semester with a passing grade (C or better).
• HS credits will be awarded at the end of each semester
• Up to 6 High School credits, and 24 Yavapai College credits will be awarded upon successful program completion.
